The Big Bend Saltwater Paddle Trail is a 105-mile marked canoe/kayak trail from the Aucilla River to the town of Suwannee. This trail, developed recently to offer more ecotourism options along the Nature Coast, puts you in the front row seat of some of the most spectacular and wild landscapes in Florida. There are seven designated backcountry campsites and two areas of developed camping along the route. Eric paddled the entire length of the trail from December 28, 2008 to January 5, 2009. The images you see in this slide show are from that trip. They are in sequential order. You can also read about the trip via Eric's blog post shortly after his return home. View Blog. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission manages the trails. Here is a link to their web site: FFWCC.
