EZP is hosting a black and white photography gallery for enthusiasts of this iconic genre. The lack of color draws a person's attention to the detailed form of a subject. Line, texture and contrast become more evident without color. Light is absolutely key, perhaps more so than with color. Not any subject lends itself to black and white. The images in this gallery were once color. However, some of the images, even in color, lacked a variety of tones that make color photography so powerful. Digital makes it easier to transform a color image into black and white. That is what you're seeing here. These image were once color, but they lend themselves to the black and white medium more so than color and were thus transformed.
