Bio

I live in Florida, but during the past 15 years since picking up a camera I have traveled extensively throughout North America. When you’re 16 years old and have the itch to travel, it’s important to start small, build experience, then go far and wide. Florida’s Ocala National Forest and the Santa Fe River are some of my early haunts. Then came the Smoky Mountains in North Carolina, then Washington State, Maine, Canada and Alaska. First I traveled with friends, then alone. I started out car camping. Now I can backpack for days on end into remote wilderness areas. It’s been a progression of becoming more acquainted with the landscape, more confident in my abilities as an outdoorsman, and less fearful of the unknown. Funny how this process has been more about personal growth than professional development as a photographer. It’s almost as though the words and images I’ve made are more a chronology of who I am and what I have to share, not so much the places I’ve been or what I’ve seen.

Although I work as a professional photographer, both as a freelancer and staff photographer, that’s not how I define myself. That's why you won't read about where I've been published or how many awards I've won. Photography, and my life, are not about that. I’m an ambassador of love ... love for those who love me, love for the earth, love for the greater good. My photography is really just an expression of this love.

If you’ve been following my work, then you will see that this web site is very different than what I had in the past. I hope you like it. For those of you who are new to my work, welcome! I also hope you like it! Please feel free to give me feedback or ask questions.
